Restricted Instrument Rating – IR(R) – for Aeroplanes
The Restricted Instrument Rating, or IR(R) superceded the UK IMC rating. The IR(R) permits flight in a much wider variety of weather conditions, e.g. poor visibility or cloud. By increasing your training and skills through obtaining this rating, you may increase the amount of flying you can do, due to fewer days restricted by poor weather. The restricted instrument rating is also seen as a great way to expand your horizons, knowledge and experience as well as challenging yourself with this exciting course. You may also wish to convert your existing national IMC rating to this IR(R) rating, and we would be more than happy to assist you with this.
